LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Beautifully renovated and thoughtfully designed, this 1-bedroom, 1-bath condominium at 55 Taft Tower offers an exceptional location at the eastern end of Condado, just a short walk from the beach and approximately half a block from Calle Loíza. This 481-square-foot residence combines contemporary design, resident parking, and a highly walkable San Juan lifestyle. The apartment was completely gutted and renovated by Jean-Pierre Santino of Basico Home Design, then further refined by the current owner with assistance from a Miami-based interior designer. The result is a cohesive, sophisticated interior where every square foot has been put to good use. The open living and kitchen area is filled with west-facing natural light. Mirrored walls enhance the sense of space and reflect light throughout the room, while new sliding glass doors open to a Juliet balcony. Marble tile flooring runs throughout the residence, complemented by Farrow & Ball paint, custom window treatments, and carefully selected finishes. The renovated kitchen is integrated into the main living area and features soft-close cabinetry, an electric stove, and a clean white-tile backsplash. The streamlined layout provides the storage and functionality you need without overwhelming the living space. The bedroom includes a north-facing window and air conditioning. The renovated bathroom features a tiled shower, updated vanity, and custom frameless glass shower enclosure. The building itself has also recently been refreshed, including updated landscaping, new signage, and repainting of both the interior and exterior. Residents enjoy controlled access, an elevator, second-floor laundry facilities, a whole-building cistern, and a generator serving the common areas. Another important advantage is parking. The apartment includes remote access to the building's privately gated resident parking lot, with parking available on a first-come basis, an especially valuable feature in this highly walkable neighborhood. And the location is difficult to beat. Condado Beach and the Atlantic Ocean are approximately 1.5 blocks away, while Calle Loíza's restaurants, coffee shops, bars, boutiques, and neighborhood businesses are approximately half a block in the opposite direction. Ocean Park and the broader Santurce dining and cultural scene are also nearby. With a Walk Score of 86, much of daily life can be enjoyed without getting into a car. Taft offers an appealing balance: close to the activity of Condado and Calle Loíza while situated on a more residential street. Short-term rentals are not permitted at 55 Taft Tower, helping maintain the building's residential character. Whether you're looking for a primary residence, second home, or sophisticated San Juan pied-à-terre, this property offers something increasingly difficult to replicate: a completely redesigned interior, additional designer upgrades, gated resident parking, and a location between the beach, Condado, Calle Loíza, and Ocean Park. At 481 square feet, the appeal isn't about having more space. It's about having the right space, beautifully finished, in a location that puts some of San Juan's best beaches, dining, and city life just outside your door.
